Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day when one's body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears, and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from a thousand foot cliff, dying of disease, or committing seppuku at the death of one's master.
And every day without fail one should consider himself as dead.
Tsunetomo Yamamoto, Hagakure

Pietrus, Il Cantilena
My harsh remarks are made by transmuting 40g of copper, 25g of zinc, 14g of nickel, 5g of hiding my embarrassment along with 97kg of spite.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.
Martin Luther King Jr, "Letter from Birmingham Jail."
"There is no world where there is no mirror" is an absurdity. But all our relations, as exact as they may be, are descriptions of man, not of the world: these are the laws of supreme optics beyond which we cannot possibly go. It is neither appearance nor illusion, but a cipher in which something unknown is written-- quite readable to us, made, in fact, for us: our human position towards things. This is how things are hidden from us.
I am Herongale. Welcome, and hello.
This journal is Friends-Locked, mostly because I value my privacy and prefer to speak freely only when I know exactly who has access to what I say. My online self is my real self. I don't pretend to be anything that I'm not, and I don't want to have to. Anyone who is interested in reading my journal is welcome to drop a comment on my one public post, and if I decide that you are not a troll and not someone that I know in real life, I'll probably add you back.
